Image models can now render attractive titles inside illustrations, but visual legibility and text correctness are different variables. This is especially important for prices, medication labels, legal notices, historical dates and multilingual campaigns.
Understand what the model does
Recraft V3’s 2024 launch and Ideogram 3.0’s 2025 launch emphasized improved generated text. Qwen-Image’s 2025 announcement focused on complex typographic composition across scripts. GPT-4o’s March 2025 image release likewise highlighted rendering words. These are supplier-declared directions of progress, not independently validated error rates or guarantees for every language.
Run a practical exact-copy test
Prepare a vetted text block with a short headline, punctuation, a date, a price, a proper noun and one line of small print. Use it unchanged for all images. A proofreader records character substitutions, omissions, spacing problems and distorted diacritics. Keep copy correctness separate from layout quality. A realistic font treatment that misspells a brand is still unusable.
Handle charts and scientific diagrams with care
A model may draw plausible axes or chemical bonds without using accurate data. Source charts should be made from the underlying numeric data and then embedded in the layout. Educational pictograms should be verified by a qualified reviewer. Do not judge a model’s “world knowledge” from illustrative examples on a vendor page; such examples are curated and may omit failed generations.
Final production workflow
Use generative tools to explore visual language, hierarchy and background illustration. Put final legal copy and approved labels in native text layers of a design app. Inspect safe areas, font licenses, accessibility contrast, spelling and locale-specific numeric formats. Record the source image generator and any alterations for content provenance, but do not claim external testing if the team merely reviewed official documentation.
Worked scenario and failure test
Give each candidate image model the same approved menu headline, a mixed-case brand name, a numerical price and an accented place name. Blind proofreaders record substitutions, omissions and spacing errors from the rendered pixels. A model that produces graceful lettering but alters the price fails the test. Use the image for decorative composition and insert exact menu text in editable layers. If public rankings are later produced, publish the prompt set, models, account tier, output dimensions, annotator procedure and error metric rather than quoting a vendor’s launch leaderboard as independently proven.
Decision guide and practical handoff
Typeset critical copy outside the image model; log exact character-error counts if tested. A responsible review packet names the exact source or model version, the permitted input assets, the requested operation and the image characteristics a reviewer must check. It should also contain an unaltered reference, the accepted derivative, and a short record of what changed. A supported feature is not necessarily a reliable one for every brief, and the team must approve both technical appearance and real-world truthfulness before distribution.
Availability, price and geographic limitations
Research cutoff: 25 October 2026. Release dates and historical tier details above are explicitly dated. Unless independently confirmed for a named country and account tier, current availability, billing currency, credit consumption, API quota and commercial entitlement are unknown—not universal. Consult official regional terms and AI 10’s dated price snapshots before procurement; do not treat a historical announcement as a live entitlement. No application, model, API response or image output was hands-on tested for this article.
