Adobe’s Firefly family expanded beyond images and video into sound effects, speech and music workflows. The product description provides dated evidence for feature introductions, but it does not mean every audio action is available in every workspace or plan.
Make the date and modality explicit
Adobe’s product description dates Text to Sound Effects and Voice to Sound Effects to September 30, 2025, and lists Generate Speech and Generate Music as of July 13, 2026. Those are distinct authoring workflows. A sound-effect prompt can produce footsteps or ambience; speech generation begins with a script and selected stock voice; music generation has style and mood controls. Do not conflate any of them with dubbing, voice cloning, sound-to-video synchronization or a complete music distribution license.
Voice-guided sound effects and consent
Voice to Sound Effects accepts a recording as a creative guide. If that recording contains a recognizable person, copyrighted music, client recordings or a private environment, verify permission and data policy before uploading it. A user can often describe the desired effect in text instead of sending sensitive audio. Do not promise that generated sounds are a faithful or forensically authentic recording of historical events.
Generate Speech is not impersonation permission
Stock voices and pacing controls can support accessibility, drafts and narration. The brand’s product description does not establish a right to imitate an individual or create an undisclosed real-person endorsement. Name the output as synthetic where the audience context requires it and verify the chosen voice license, language, plan and export terms before client distribution. For long scripts, audition proper names and technical jargon in multiple segments rather than assume consistent pronunciation.
Commercial usage and beta boundaries
Adobe product descriptions distinguish core named services from external models and beta or trial access. Whether generated media is commercially usable depends on the exact service terms and restrictions applying to the individual feature. Never treat a line saying Firefly exists as blanket confirmation of every media right. Preserve feature, user entitlement, source recording consent, generated asset ID, prompt and date. Monetization rights and credit fees must be checked in the dated AI 10 ledger.
Production handoff to AI04
For a silent generated shot, produce a separate catalogued sound-effect stem and place it on the video timeline with a timecoded cue. AI 05 owns the audio asset and its rights metadata; AI 04 owns image-to-video and avatar animation. For audio-only publishing, ensure effects sit below speech, preserve intelligibility, and run a stereo-to-mono check. Retain a no-effects accessibility mix if loud generated events would obscure the spoken material.
