Kling 3.0 presents multi-shot generation as one way to create short scenes with several camera positions and speech-driven beats.
A 15-second container is not a finished film
Its official guide lists 15 seconds as the supported maximum and distinguishes the new intelligent storyboarding from the earlier 2.6 family. Those are model-specific statements, not guarantees that a 15-second prompt will yield a coherent narrative with every character and prop preserved. Think of the generated file as a candidate scene within an ordinary editing project.
Two ways to direct the sequence
First, intelligent segmentation asks the model to infer cuts from a prompt. The provider API change history explicitly records the `multi_shot` value `intelligence` for text-to-video and image-to-video, added on 10 February 2026. For a retail ad, a short sequence might start on a wide shopfront, cut to a hand turning a package and end on a medium reaction shot. Second, where the current product surface permits more direct shot control, make a shot list and compare the actual UI or API schema before assuming a particular parameter works everywhere.
Continuity design begins before prompting
Write a compact identity bible: garment, hair, product color, background layout and any elements that must not change. Make three distinct shot cards with a specified focal subject, action, camera distance and duration budget. If a close shot needs a logo, supply approved source imagery and finish the final mark in a compositor rather than relying on generated letters. A model can move the camera believably while still changing the geometry of a face, box or hand between cuts.
An operational example
Consider a 12-second bakery scene with a chef entering, opening an oven and placing bread on a tray. Keep the number of transitions small enough that each event reads. Generate a continuity-critical version with a fixed start image where the selected interface allows image input; produce an alternate text-led version for creative coverage. Watch the complete sequence for broken temporal connections: does the same tray appear in every shot, and does the bread move between hands without a cut masking the change?
API, rights and plan boundaries
The official API documents serve as evidence for `kling-v3`, but UI eligibility, queues, customer region, commercial entitlements and dollar pricing cannot be inferred from a parameter list. An API changelog also reports a later combination of start/end frames with multishot for specified 3.0 models; verify the chosen endpoint before sending production traffic. Consent to use an identifiable actor and licenses for any reference footage are separate from output-generation capability. Keep generation logs, edits and approvals attached to each deliverable.
Relevant alternatives and trade-offs
For shot-by-shot control outside a generator, a standard NLE remains more deterministic. Kling 3.0 Omni is the adjacent path when reference subjects are the central constraint; Runway and other vendors require separate product/version checks.
