Cohere Coral: understanding a retired enterprise AI chat interface

Coral was a Cohere browser interface for exploring enterprise-oriented AI conversations.

Coral was a Cohere browser interface for exploring enterprise-oriented AI conversations. It should no longer be offered as an active signup recommendation: Cohere’s September 15, 2025 deprecation announcement explicitly lists the Coral web UI among deprecated products.

What this product actually is

The deprecation notice includes both chat.cohere.com and coral.cohere.com, alongside model and API retirement items. Those are related transitions but not identical objects: a user-facing interface can be retired while a company continues its developer models and business products.

Who it can help and when

Coral remains worth describing for enterprise software history and for teams interpreting old product references. A screenshot or training document that once instructed users to open Coral should be revised to identify the current supported Cohere workflows rather than assuming the previous URL is permanent.

A realistic first workflow

For migration documentation, inventory whether a workflow relied on a user-facing chat interface, a managed connector, or a specific Command model identifier. Route API changes to the model and API reference and any automation reimplementation to the agent-security and orchestration guide. Before removing a legacy dependency, validate what user content must be retained under records rules.

Limitations and decisions the user must make

The primary notice does not establish that old chat archives remain accessible or that every plan was affected identically on the same day. It announces deprecations and recommended model replacements; avoid silently converting that into an invented shutdown timeline for every individual account.

Privacy, permissions and data handling

Do not promise export of historical prompts or archived uploads without a specific official migration document. Former enterprise customers should request retention and deletion terms under their actual agreement, not infer them from consumer-level privacy statements.

Portability, export and avoiding lock-in

Preserve any authorized legacy transcript and deployment configuration in ordinary organizational storage with dates and ownership. An archive is a separate compliance decision from opening a new endpoint.

Alternatives and adjacent tools

For current enterprise search assess Glean or another approved workspace; for model APIs consult the model and API reference’s Cohere model registry. This is a historical record rather than a buyer-guide score.

Status, availability, and account-specific caveats as of October 25, 2026

This is a historical product profile. Shutdown or deprecation changes its buyer-guide status: the former interface should not be presented as a functioning current service. Earlier users may have different archival entitlements, and migration/export claims require version-specific first-party proof.

Pricing, testing and editorial boundary

No current numeric subscription price, usage quota, API token cost or model benchmark score is asserted in this guide. Those require separate dated primary-source snapshots managed by a dated pricing reference. This profile is not an endorsement, independent product test, legal/security audit or permission to copy screenshots, branding or proprietary documents. Deep model architecture, code agents and imaging features are covered by their respective specialist editorial teams.
